Q. What does the Chamber actually do?

A. The Chamber organizes several community events each year (see list in next column). The Chamber promotes member businesses. The Chamber attends state-wide and regional meetings in an effort to promote tourism and the economic growth of Woodson County and its communities.

Q. How much will I have to help?

A. This organization would not be successful without our many wonderful volunteers. How involved you are is up to you however, we realize that everyone has other obligations and may not have time to help with our numerous events.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Woodson County Chamber is to promote commerce, tourism, and economic development of the county and its communities of Piqua, Neosho Falls, Toronto and Yates Center. 

The Woodson County Chamber of Commerce represents all of Woodson County. We receive funding from the county and the City of Yates Center, and through Chamber memberships.

Through our funding from the governmental entities we promote the Economic Development of the communities or Yates Center, Piqua, Neosho Falls, and Toronto.

The Chamber is also dedicated to helping member businesses thrive and prosper. Members of the Chamber are well represented at numerous events through out the state of Kansas, through this office.

Promoting Economic Development and Tourism

Promoting economic development and tourism is the main focus of the Chamber.  The Chamber
  • participates at the annual Kansas Sampler Festival
  • maintains an active role in the Southeast Kansas Tourism Region group
  • provides a presence at legislative events
  • maintains brochures and pamphlets for the communities
  • mails out relocation packets
  • conducts Ribbon Cutting ceremonies for all new businesses in Woodson County
